Happy Birthday, Bahay Turo!
Hello everyone and welcome to the party!!! Bahay Turo turns ONE this October 2022. As we look back on the past twelve months, we see just how fast and how much we’ve achieved. After our Alpha launch, we rapidly moved development into Beta phase. We launched gift vouchers to spread the Gift of Learning. We’ve received some pretty awesome messages from moms, dads, and kids that made us tear up. We’ve onboarded 5% of teacher applicants (yup, we are serious about screening!) and the teachers in the Bahay Turo community got personal and professional development webinars. With the lifting of COVID restrictions, we happily jumped into Back-to-School preparations.
The Bahay Turo community has also seen rapid growth in one short year. What started out as a small group of early adapters has evolved into a large and bustling barangay of parents, students, and educators. Parents unloaded burdens. Students got help for a variety of topics. The Bahay Turo community shared insights, tips, and hacks with one another. We’ve embraced the experience of high-quality, on-demand online tutorials and we can’t imagine going back to less-efficient alternatives. If you think about it, we made magic happen. Two years ago, could you imagine yourself scheduling a tutorial online and having the lesson in the same day, all without needing to leave your home?
The magic hasn’t stopped. We are unveiling some exciting developments this entire month of October. First off, we are sporting a new homepage design! Check out bahayturo.com’s new spiffy look: we’ve optimized our homepage for easy navigating. We’re also offering discounts for credit purchases and giving away exciting prizes throughout the month. College tutorials are kicking into full gear. Exciting workshops are in the pipeline. As Bahay Turo emerges as the online tutorial platform of choice, we launch the Bahay Turo mobile app. Download it soon from App Store!
The future of Bahay Turo is even brighter. We are partnering with more institutions to provide high-quality online tutorials. We are launching more innovative workshops. We are making our community stronger by collaborating with some world-class organizations. Exciting times are coming up for education and technology in the Philippines and Bahay Turo is leading the pack! As we turn one, we extend the warmest thanks to all the families, teachers, partners, and affiliates in the Bahay Turo community. With you, we have the opportunity to provide world-class educational support in the Philippines. We have the chance to provide teachers with supplemental livelihood.
