Bringing Stories to Life: Highlights from Our Character Dress-Up Reading Adventure

Last Saturday, July 25, Bahay Turo, in partnership with National Book Store, welcomed families to a fun-filled Character Dress-Up Reading Adventure at National Book Store, SM North EDSA.

The event celebrated the joy of reading by encouraging children to come dressed as their favorite storybook characters. From beloved fairy tale heroes to classic book characters, our little learners filled the venue with creativity, confidence, and excitement.

One of the highlights of the event was our Character Parade, where each child proudly showcased their costume. It was a wonderful opportunity for them to express their creativity while building confidence in front of an audience.

Parents had the opportunity to learn more about how they can support their child's reading journey through a special session with T. Blessy, Bahay Turo's Co-Head Teacher. She shared an overview of Bahay Turo's Reading Booster Program, explaining how it helps children strengthen their reading skills, improve comprehension, and become more confident readers through personalized one-on-one learning.

To help parents better understand their child's current reading level, we also offered a FREE Reading Assessment, giving families valuable insights and recommendations to support their child's learning journey.

Of course, the fun didn't stop there! Families went home with smiles as they enjoyed exciting giveaways from both Bahay Turo and National Book Store, making the day even more memorable for everyone who attended.
